Lately I've been told by several people how positive I am. I find this to be refreshing, since I used to be such a 'debbie downer'. I used to be angry at the world and was the very angsty-est of teens.
So much in my life is changing right now. I'm becoming more independent, more responsible, more organized, more capable at work, everything seems to be falling into place. My bf and I are making a 5 year plan, we're focusing on the future, which I'm proud of joey for, because he NEVER has interest in what 'will be' or 'someday' or anything like that.
In other news, I hit 237 today. When I hit 229 lbs I will officially have lost more than I ever have before in my life. (previous record = 70 lbs, in a totally unhealthy fashion).
I'm feeling great. I do 10 miles on my bike 2-3 days a week, I am also doing interval training on the other days, c25k only on a stationary recumbent. Food is getting easier and easier to deal with. I got a gift of gluten free truffles from my friend who does vegan catering here in Pittsburgh (check her out at: Iron Betty Sweets ), she's amazing but I could have killed her for bringing that devil's chocolate into my house. hehe, it's okay though, I shared with joey and a friend and managed to not gobble down the entire box myself. :) Although they were so amazing that just one or two was satisfying, no need to gorge they were so sweet and yummay. :) Actually, here is a pic for your viewing pleasure:
I just want to give a little shout out here to www.yummyplants.com it's a newish website, it's growing though and has lots of good info, check out the forums and post a bit. The woman who runs it is from here! (Pittsburgh) so that is extra special good times.
My juicer should be here by Friday. I might be reviewing the Ninja later tonight though, I've been wanting to take some pics of it in action to give a good idea of what it can do. I know a lot of people want the vitamix, but even refurbished it's kind of pricey (okay, more than kind of), and I find the ninja to be a fabulous inexpensive alternative. Will be sure to write more later about that!
Does it get more angsty than this!?

I think that's the best compliment when people notice the inside changing and not just the physical changes :) It means you are on a sustainable journey not one that's making you miserable and cranky. I was told "I looked happier" and that made me happy.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on how well you are doing! I can't wait to hear how the juicing goes.
safire, very true, I never thought of it that way! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful blog! I'm so happy for you for all your progress!
ReplyDeleteI had angsty photos like that too. Hid behind the gothy/heavy metal look for years. I don't think I kept any though.
Keep up your beautiful new lifestyle. It obviously is perfect for you!
