So, it's been about 3 weeks and until the last few days I had only lost about 2 lbs. The 230's have been a real pain, very difficult to get out of. My body is testing me, as it is known to do. This is generally the time I feel like I'm getting nowhere and give up.
Not this time. As a friend says, "a plateau is maintenance in training." and that is how I'm trying to look at it. It doesn't matter if it's not coming off as fast as I'd like because it's coming off, I know what I've done to myself is tragic and it will be difficult to undo all this damage. I FEEL amazing though, I don't ever want to go back to feeling how I did before.
As of today, in under a week I have lost 3 lbs. I'm down to 230 and once I lose 2 more lbs I will have officially lost more than I ever have before. In 2004 I lost 70 lbs. When I gained it back I also regained an additional 40 lbs, so even though I'll have made it back, it isn't back to where I was in 2004.
I've decided my gift to myself for hitting 199 lbs will be a gym membership and one month of personal training.
I've mentioned working 2 jobs now, I love them both, I'm lucky. I'm very busy, but am figuring out how to take care of myself. I make sure to have breakfast and I bring water/a protein bar to work with me to tide me over until I get home, this way I don't pig out or eat out once I get here. I'm still exercising, more than I ever have before. I'm keeping up with my physical therapy too, as a matter of fact I'm amping it up a bit and doing more stuff more often because I'm working 7 days straight, I don't want to damage myself. I'm doing this right. Hell, I'm even CLEANING today and I've started reading again. I finally finished in defense of food and plan to start on the end of overeating in a few mins here. ;)
I feel like my life is full and I'm so very happy and content. Weight loss is not the #1 most important thing, it's at the forefront definitely, but I have so much else going on that if I go a few weeks with a slow loss, I'll live. As a matter of fact, if I don't regain I'll live even longer. ;) It's a win win.

You are in such a positive headspace! I am so happy for you :) It really is about staying with it even when the scale isn't whooshing like we want it to!

ReplyDeleteThe 230s are being annoying for me too. I'm at 232 last time I weighed. I'll be giddy when it finally says 22-something!
ReplyDeleteGreat that you're in that positive mindset! It really does help! I also think it's great that you love both your jobs. I'll be happy to leave mine behind when we move.
YAY for rewards!!
